The tour was great, our guide was very knowledgeable, he spotted and told us lots of information about the wildlife we saw. We saw small crocodiles, water monitors, monkeys, bats and a variety of birds. We did not see any large crocodiles however I think that was because we only wanted to spend 1.5 hours on the river and our guide said they were on the other side but we wanted to leave, regardless we had a lovely time and saw several small crocodiles and held one too.
The river is beautiful and the boat ride was so relaxing, I would definitely recommend going.

The cooking class, the open kitchen by the river(it's like a lagoon), the final results of what we cook together from rice to shrimp curry, vegetable curry, dahl, coconut roti, sambol etc the ambience you name it. I've found Daytoursrilanka via TripAdvisor and I happy, that we found them. We ordered the boat trip to mangrove in the river Bentota Ganga.... read more Gayan wait and meet me and my wife, walk/drive us to boat and the captain. Everything was at time (frankly speaking, we even came late), but thx for waiting, the price was honest and as agreed before (about 20usd per one boat for us, 2 persons and 2 hour trip). The trip was amazing, we saw and sail throw the mangrove forest, we saw birds, varans, some small and medium crocodiles all of them in the wild nature. We've visited and took on hands one small crocodile for some tips. It was cool, but the crocodile looks like a bit "bombed", we gave some tips for so-called "farmer" and sailed away. So, my advise is - must see, must visit. Approach Gayan for the services. No fear.
